Volunteer Information

As this event is a 501c3 charity event, all work to make this possible is donated...there are no paid positions related to the preparation and running of this event, we are all volunteers! In this spirit, and to involve people from the community that might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser, we are opening up the Zombie positions to individuals and groups in the area that would like to participate! Following are the guidelines and rewards for volunteering your time for this worthy cause!

Our intention is to make this as fun and safe as possible for everyone inolved!

THANK YOU for your consideration in helping to make this charitable event a success!

  • Field Zombies

    6:30PM—12:30AM

Volunteers will need to be onsite by 6:30PM to have up to 30 minutes to prepare and be positioned by our field manager, Jeremy, for the first Zombus tour of the night.

    The following will be provided:
-An outer layer of protection and costume
-a paintball faceshield and zombie mask
    -throat protection
    -heavy gloves

    What we recommend you bring:
-at least 2 heavy sweatshirts or equivalent to wear under the provided coveralls
    -jeans
    -A SENSE OF ADVENTURE!

***REMEMBER: You will never have any exposed skin and you will never be any closer than 40 feet from the bus!

-there will be several scenes on the tour for the customer, you will be asked to be a part of a single scene
-the Zombuses will travel around at a rate not exceeding one bus every 7 minutes
-each time a Zombus travels by your scene, you will be at least 40 feet away from the bus at all times (the paintball guns will be turned down to a pressure that is just great enough to make the paintballs break at that distance)
-the Zombus will be at your scene for approximately 20 seconds
-after the 20 seconds, you will have at least a 6 minute break between buses...plenty of time to shoot the bull and enjoy the starry night!
-there will be 3-4 Zombies in each scene, so no one Zombie will be drawing all the "fire"-and remember, most shots will miss entirely!

  • Crowd Zombies

    6:30PM—12:30AM

Crowd Zombies will be asked to roam the crowd and interact in a Zombielike, yet congenial character. The costumes and makeup for these Zombie positions will be left to the volunteers creativity!
These Zombies will also be expected to pose for pictures with participants to be posted on social media.

  • Zombie Wages

We know that Zombies like to be fed and entertained! In exchange for each night of your contribution, each person will receive:
-1 FREE pass and additional 100 rounds of paintballs for use on a subsequent night (a $35 value!)
    -a $10 concession area voucher!
(If you have 5 or more in your group, the concession vouchers for your group may be redeemed at a rate of $10 volunteer in a check to the 501c3 charity of your groups choice! That's right, have fun and raise money for the charity of your choice at the same time!)
-a certificate of appreciation for the volunteered hours, can be used as a credit of community service work toward graduation requirements or for a resume record!
-credit for your group's participation on our social media to publicize your service!

Appreciations

The Wichita Zombie Shoot would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the volunteers that have come together to make this happen! All proceeds will go to the Wichita Scottish Rite Charitable Trust, which is a 501c3 Non-Profit entity, and will help support the Historic Wichita Scottish Rite Center (which is on the National Register of Historic Buildings), and to their main philantropy which is the RiteCare Center on the Campus of Wichita State University. So have fun and know that all of your money will stay local and to help the community and children in need!
